What's In A Name?
Why do did we call what we do Ishta Spinal
Touch - Core Alignment?
Spinal Touch - Core Alignment
Drs. Hurley and Sanders developed four distinct techniques within their Aquarian
Age Healing, called techniques 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Their vision was to have a member of every family learn technique number
one, which would enable them to keep their friends and family in optimum
health. They called people who had learnt this technique 'Bio-Mechanics'.
As a follow on from this, therapists were taught the advanced techniques
2, 3 & 4 to restore people to health, and were referred to as
'Bio-Engineers'. Due to an accident of history, and the fact that it is so
effective, it is only technique number one that has come down to us as Spinal
Touch.
Our Foundation Course is in Spinal Touch and is suitable for everyone,
lay people and therapist alike. Our Practitioner Course is known
as Spinal Touch - Core Alignment, and is suitable for therapists
only. In it, advanced strategies are taught to augment the Spinal
Touch (Aquarian Age Healing Technique 1), that was learnt on the
Foundation Course.
What does Ishta stand for?
We were the first people in the UK to train as tutors in the authorised
technique with Dr. Rosquist. He was adamant that it was an add-on
technique, which would complement any other healing modality. To
differentiate our courses from those which had gone before in the
UK ( in which Chinese whispers had set in ) we rebranded it as Ishta
Spinal Touch. Ishta standing for 'Integrating Spinal Health with
Therapeutic Approaches', as the Practitioner Course is taught solely
as an add-on technique to existing therapists.
So, now you know!
Addendum
At the end of 2008 the feed-back from the practitioners was that they preferred
the terms Practitioner, and Master Practitioner for those who had done the
more advanced work. As a result we we have adopted the new names.
The name Ishta Spinal Touch - Core Alignment is no longer used but may appear
in some of the older articles we have had published. |
